Biodiversity Action Plans

We engage with local groups to produce Biodiversity Action Plans for their areas.

At present we are undertaking a project for Fingal County Council and working with Howth, Sutton, Bayside, Baldoyle, Portmarnock and Malahide in Fingal County to produce Local Biodiversity Action Plans. These Plans are focused on local Community Groups and Tidy Towns Groups and what they can do in their areas to maximise biodiversity.

NatureCubsIreland also mentors community groups to implement existing Biodiversity Action Plans. We conduct Zoom workshops with these groups to work through the actions in their Plans and see how we can advise on getting these Actions carried out. In non-covid times, we go out on site and see how we can assist with the Plans’ implementation. We produce Resource Packs for local groups to help them implement their Biodiversity Action Plans.

We have worked in this remit with a number of local groups in Meath for Meath County Council including:

Julianstown, Kells, Longwood , RĂ¡th Chairn, Ratoath, Slane, Stamullen and Trim.
